Bax Bees is a family-run beekeeping business based in Plumley, Cheshire, producing a diverse range of local honey and hive-derived products. What began as a personal interest has grown into an established honey producer with apiaries spread across rural Cheshire, allowing the bees to forage on a rich mix of farmland, hedgerows and woodland.
Honey production sits at the heart of the business. Bax Bees produces raw, unpasteurised honey that is cold gravity-extracted to preserve natural flavour and texture. Alongside traditional honey varieties, the range also includes infused and speciality honeys, reflecting both seasonal forage and careful experimentation.
In addition to honey, Bax Bees makes full use of hive by-products to create a broad selection of artisan goods. These include beeswax candles, balms, propolis products, pollen mixes and meads, all produced in small batches with a focus on quality and traceability.
Visitors are welcome at the Plumley Honey House, the company’s on-site shop and visitor space on Plumley Moor Road. Here, customers can browse the full product range, learn more about beekeeping through displays and observation hives, and purchase honey directly from the producer. The shop operates regular weekly opening hours, making it a popular local destination.
Alongside the physical shop, Bax Bees also sells its products through an online store, offering delivery across the UK. With a strong emphasis on traditional methods, education and local production, Bax Bees continues to play an active role in Cheshire’s local food and beekeeping community.
