About Us
Firth Home Farm is a family-run farm located in Roslin, Midlothian, just 6km south of Edinburgh, run by Janie and Colin McClung. Both were raised on farms — Janie in Lochaber near Fort William, where she helped her father with sheep and cattle in the shadow of Ben Nevis, and Colin from a long line of potato growers and traders across South Ayrshire, Fife and the Lothians. The farm produces its own honey alongside eggs, deli products and seasonal produce, all available to buy directly from the farm. Customers can purchase online via the farm's shop (launching soon) or from a sales cart at the end of the farm drive. Janie brings professional cheffing and butchering skills to the operation, while their daughter Louise, a Zoologist who has worked with RSPB and NatureScot, also contributes to the farm. The farm also offers farmhouse accommodation, giving visitors a chance to experience rural life close to Edinburgh.
