Ledston Honey Bees is a small-scale honey producer based on the Ledston Estate in West Yorkshire, a vast 1,235 hectare (3,050 acre) property comprising mixed farmland, woodland, parkland, historic gardens and wetlands. This diverse landscape provides an exceptional range of foraging opportunities for the bees. The estate's principal building is the Grade 1 Listed Ledston Hall, which forms a striking backdrop to the apiaries. The honey is described as 100% natural, pure and raw — harvested fresh from the hive with nothing added and nothing taken out. Each hive is harvested individually, with bee welfare placed firmly at the heart of their approach. The business is run by Michelle, who also makes a range of handcrafted beeswax products including 100% cotton beeswax wraps (a sustainable alternative to clingfilm and tinfoil), natural beeswax candles in various styles, and a selection of beeswax skin balms and lip balms. The lip balms come in Peppermint and Lavender varieties, while the skin balm range includes Rosemary & Lavender, Rose Geranium & Lavender, Lemongrass & Lavender, Peppermint, and Lavender. Honey and products are sold online through Hic! Wine Merchants.
