About Us
Thorabella Buffalo Farm is a family-run working farm located in Dallas, near Elgin and Forres in Moray, Scotland. The farm is owned by Ollie and Nikki Lake, who started their farming journey in 2015 with no farming background but a love of animals. They purchased Blackmyre Farm in 2017, a 47-acre property, and have since developed it into a diverse agricultural business. The farm is home to buffalo, highland cows, wallabies, pigs, sheep, goats, rabbits and hens — and bees. Honey is produced on-site from their own bees and sold alongside other farm produce including buffalo meat products, fresh eggs, and milk. The farm won the 'Diversified Farm of the Year' award, reflecting its broad and innovative range of activities. Honey and other produce are available from their on-site Farm Shop, which is open seven days a week from 9am to 7pm. The farm also offers holiday accommodation in straw bale cabins, farm visits and a seasonal café called The Buffalo Bite.
