Udny Provender is a small-scale artisan producer based in Udny, northern Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The business runs apiaries across northern Aberdeenshire, where bees forage on millions of flowers, producing honey with a taste and colour characteristic of the local flora. Because each apiary site has a different floral diversity, every batch of honey is unique. The producer makes two distinct honey varieties: an early summer light blossom honey and an intense, darker late summer heather honey, both available in 340g jars. In season, they also sell cut comb heather honey. Beyond honey, the bees on their smallholding play a vital role in pollinating the fruits and herbs used in their other products. Alongside honey, Udny Provender produces six flavours of flavoured vinegar in 250ml bottles — including Raspberry, Elderflower, Blackberry Cider and Hot Chilli — as well as an extensive range of ten craft shrubs (fruit and vinegar cordials), with flavours such as Blackberry and Lime (award-winning), Rhubarb Honey and Ginger, and Gooseberry and Elderflower. Fruits, herbs and flowers are grown on their own smallholding or foraged locally where possible.
